Melissa Ferrick Wins IAMA!

IAMA (International Acoustic Music Awards) has awarded Melissa First Prize for Best AAA/Alternative for "You Let Me Be" from her MPress debut Still Right Here. IAMA is the only award of its kind out there geared towards performing musicians.

Melissa's Summer Dates with Ani DiFranco

Melissa hits the road again with folk/pop icon Ani DiFranco this summer. Joining her in June 14th @ Showcase Live (Foxboro, MA), June 19th @ Bowery Ballroom (New York, NY) and June 20th @ Prescott Park Arts Festival (Portsmouth, NH). Additionally, both Melissa and Ani will be appearing at Clearwater's Great Hudson River Rival @ Croton Point Park (Croton on Hudson, NY).

Club Passim Presents Melissa Ferrick For Rock & Blues Concert Cruise

On July 27th, Melissa Ferrick will board the Provincetown II and depart from the World Trade Center Pier in Boston's Seaport District for summer sunset cruise of Boston Harbor.

Melissa will be joined by a full band including Billy Beard on drums, Richard Gates on bass, Dinty Childs on guitar and Elana Arian on violin. And special guest, critically acclaimed independent folk musician, Rose Polenzani will open the show.

"Still Right Here" Video Wins Two RightOutTV Music Video Awards!

Melissa's video for "Still Right Here", directed by Stephanie Stender and featuring her fervent fan base, has won two awards one for Best Pop/Rock Video by RightOutTV and Fan Favorite category for their 2011 Video Music Awards.

Melissa Ferrick - Visiting Professor @ Berklee College of Music

Melissa returns to Berklee College of Music as a Visiting Professor participating in a few different programs during the school's summer session. Her work is specifically geared toward part-time and full-time professional musiciand and high school artists who are trying to get accepted to Berklee full time. She is currently participating in the following programs:

Vocal Summit - This will be Melissa's first year of instruction in this program. It focuses on songwriting and songwriting critiquing, for rock & alt. country vocals.

Performance Summer Program - Melissa returns for her fourth year in this program, which focuses on performance prospective and indie music business. She will be a judge, mentor and host to the singer-songwriter division.

Songwriting Workshop - For her third year participating in this program, Melissa's workshop will focus on writing the truth, singer-songwriter critiques and D.I.Y solo singer-songwriter regional touring.

Melissa To Perform at The Greater New Bedford Summerfest

On July 8th, Melissa Ferrick is set to perform at The Greater New Bedford Summerfest Folk Festival (New Bedford, MA), a summer festival that takes pride in bringing together over 70 renowned and emerging performers to New Bedford's authentic historic distric during the first week of July.

The two day festival offers continuous folk music from 11am tp 9pm on seven stages throughout the New Bedford Whaling National History Park ranging from the 1200 seat "Custom House Stage" to the intimacy of the 55 seat "Meet the Performer" area. Melissa will be joined by MPress alumn Seth Glier who is performing both days of the festival. Other notable performers include: Peter Yarrow, Catie Curtis and The Kennedys.

Melissa Returns to the Rubin Museum in NYC

On Friday, August 24th, Melissa returns to NYC's Rubin Museum for Naked Soul at 7:00 PM. Unplugged, but totally conncected. An entirely acoustic singer/songwriter series allowing you to hear artists as they really sound. Presented with Music Without Borders the series also features performances by John Gorka, Jill Sobule, Tom Paxton and Kristin Hersh.
